Carbon molecular sieve compared under defined conditions

For nitrogen PSA applications, nominal grade names are not enough. We ask for purity, nitrogen yield, air-to-nitrogen ratio, cycle conditions, pellet size and the supplier’s test basis.

Core comparison points

Nitrogen purityTarget purity at the buyer’s operating point, commonly including 99% and 99.5% comparisons.
Nitrogen yieldOutput stated in a defined unit and under stated cycle and pressure conditions.
Air-to-nitrogen ratioEfficiency assessed alongside purity and product-gas flow.
Pellet sizeTypically 1.0–2.0 mm, subject to vessel, valve and pressure-drop requirements.

Test apparatus and evidence

Manufacturers are asked whether figures are measured or calculated, and to describe the test apparatus, bed size, adsorption pressure, desorption pressure, cycle time, feed-air condition and temperature.

Technical data, a representative batch COA, crush strength, bulk density, moisture and packaging are reviewed before a grade is proposed.

Equivalence to an incumbent premium grade should be demonstrated on a comparable test basis and, where possible, confirmed in the buyer’s equipment through an agreed sample or trial.

Commercial quantities

We can investigate requirements from trial quantities and individual drums through to pallet and larger-volume supply, with the actual MOQ and landed delivery basis stated clearly.
